Our engineering clubs and organizations give you the chance to connect with people who have common interests and goals. The friendships you develop now could help determine your career path.
American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Mason Chapter
Members can participate in an ASME-sponsored engineering festival (E-Fest), which offers a series of competitions designed to expand knowledge, stimulate innovation, and build résumés. Competitions include the human-powered vehicle challenge, student design competition, innovative additive manufacturing 3D challenge, and oral and technical poster competition.
Some members of Mason’s chapter of ASME visit local high schools to talk with students about the mechanical engineering degree at Mason and mentor prospective engineers. Follow Mason’s chapter on ASME activities on Facebook.
ASME Chapter President: Crystal Bowers.
Mason Formula One
Members design and fabricate a vehicle, which gives them the chance to do an industry-level engineering project. They have the opportunity to compete with other students around the world in one of the Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) International Collegiate Design Series competitions.
